All children up to 8th birthday can attend the surgery for FREE .
The HSE will not automatically issue you a card. You need to register yourself as per instructions on their website.
(Please note children aged up to 6th Birthday who already have a DVC – Doctor Visit Card will automatically be extended to their 8th Birthday ie you do not need to re-apply )
( Of note the above does not apply to children of Families who have a DVC or GMS card under income qualification – if thats applies to your family you don’t need to do anything with this scheme as your children remain fully covered )
How to apply for a GP visit card :

To register, you will need:
- Your PPS Number
- The child’s PPS number
