If you have symptoms of Covid 19 – self isolate and do an Antigen or PCR test – see below.
- If the test is positive you need to self-isolate for a minimum of 7 days after the onset of symptoms .If you in a very high risk group to becoming very unwell there are special medicines that should be considered in your medical care . Let your Gp know as soon as possible if you have a positive PCR test if you are a vulnerable person .
- If a PCR test is negative you can stop isolating … and can return to normal activities once you are well for 48 hours .
- If you do an Antigen test and it is negative you may still have Covid 19 – the virus may not have been detected in the test you did …. it is good practice to isolate , wear a mask and avoid meeting vulnerable people / crowds whilst you remain unwell . It is also a good practice to repeat the antigen test if you continue to have symptoms at least every 2 nd day x 3 tests in total.
